Sound Steps is an audio exploration designed by Eden Lew and I at the School of Visual Arts Products of Design program. Under the guidance of Becky Stern our Making Studio instructor, we explored the dichotomy between our SVA student life and our previous student experience in the Midwest. These differences came as a way to curiously explore sounds between the two physical places. Sound Steps invites people to walk barefoot across the platform to discover the different spaces audibly. By constructing a platform to interact with, we collected sounds and possible mixtures of interchangeable musical kits. Such as a drum kit and just city sounds. You can find the instructable here and maybe make one of your own.
